In addition to basic trade related training, students are instructed in job safety and will be expected to understand and observe all relevant safety regulations. They are also instructed about what is expected of them on the job site, their responsibility to the contractor or employer, how to best serve their supervisors, and often overlooked topics like job site etiquette.

Students may obtain certification in their desired field when they have completed the course materials online or in Video/DVD formats, and have completed the tests in the corresponding workbook. Once they have passed the initial examination,  and have successfully completed the  hands-on testing (if applicable) they are eligible to receive the NAICP trade Certification and pocket card. In this way, you can rest assured that your new-hire possesses the required skills to make him a valuable asset of your organization. With a little time and patience, the typical NAICP student can become your most valued employee.
