About Us
The North American Institute of Construction Professionals (NAICP) was created to provide quality training courses to persons who wish to become involved in the Construction Industry or who are already employed in the industry but wish to increase their understanding of a particular trade or trades.
The Institute provides a series of web tutorials, CD/DVD's, videotapes and workbooks called "Asi Se Hace", in Spanish, and "Construction Trade Learning System" in English. Job placement is made available to certificate holders through a toll-free 800 number (1-800-WE-BUILD). Emphasis is placed in the Native American and Hispanic communities, however, the courses are available in English, Tagalog, and Vietnamese at present.
The NAICP fills the enormous void currently found in the construction industry in regards to the serious shortage of skilled and trained workers. In addition, the NAICP provides certifications to qualifying individuals completing the instructional courses. Certifications are tied to the courses and are based on varying degrees of hands-on proficiency in conjunction with results of the written tests administered by the NAICP.
The Institute provides training in the student's own language, and qualifying individuals are awarded various levels of competence, designating them Green Building Technician; Certified Drywall Installer and Finisher; Certified Concrete Technician, etc. The certifications afford them opportunities for advancement in their chosen trade, pride in their accomplishments, recognition, increased income, and a higher standard of living.
These certifications contribute to a General Contractor's skills set, and provides end users with the knowledge and confidence that the people who are working on their projects are indeed qualified in their individual trades.
The certificates and pocket cards (proof of the student's having completed the required training in their trades) add to the student's confidence, and are highly regarded among their peers.
It is projected that NAICP certification will eventually become a necessity if one is to be taken seriously in the industry.
The picture identification cards are verifiable against online relational databases searchable my member contractors, project managers, and facilities managers.
